The contribution of parents to St. Mary's Academy CBS is immense and we have been very fortunate that so many parents have come forward to work on behalf of the parent body to identify areas for development and improvement in the school promote the work of the school. The current chairperson is Margot Murphy and she has continued the magnificent contributions of her predecessors. At the recent agm on 3rd October 2007, the governor of Mountjoy Prison, John Lonergan, gave a fantastic presentation on his observations on the development of the child into adulthood.
The officers for the 2007/08 school year will be elected at the next meeting in November. The council raised €9000 for the school last year, €7000 to improve the IT facilities in the school and €2000 for the continued development of the school Library. The school is very grateful for your contributions.
The school has a very active Parents Council, under the chairmanship of Eamonn Redmond. They meet about six times in the school year and they ensure that the parents' viewpoints are represented in policies and systems drawn up by the school.
